MAI is a software system for adaptive music generation, based on music morphing. MAI composes and performs music in real-time based on the tunes given as input and the state of the process to which it adapts. Connected to interactive applications like computer games, MAI generates highly adaptive musical soundtracks. The composer controls the broad picture, what tunes will be used in what scenes etc, and MAI works out the details in real-time at the individual gaming session.

MAI can also be used as an interactive music tool. The program is then controlled either by its graphical user interface or from a midi device like your regular keyboard.
